Almost two weeks of hanging around home due to a chest infection, staring at the pile of medications on the desk. Feeling really useless coz I can’t talk for long or walk very far without feeling tired and needing to catch my breath. Coughing up all sorts of yucky stuff. Depending on parents and other people to help me get food and replenish supplies. Not fun.

Rant: EFTPOS devices
I’m getting very annoyed with EFTPOS devices that don’t show the amount when you enter the PIN number. I mean, isn’t the whole point to be able to check the amount, authenticate that you’re you, then confirm that you authorise the transaction (btw, single-factor security theatre sucks, but that’s another story)?
I asked for a receipt just tonight coz I couldn’t...
It's 2011, and Windows still cannot mount disk...
A quite basic feature, one would think. A simple idea: rather than keep around a whole bunch of disks, make an image, and store those images on a hard drive. Less disks, much easier access.
If the Microsoft Connect feature request is anything to go by, there are no plans to add this. Which is annoying, coz that means a third party app is required, and many of them come with somewhat suspect...
